Creating A Business Card

Overview: During this lesson you will create a personal business card that contains a digital photograph of yourself, a logo or graphic, and a "motto" or quote to live by. You will also be encouraged to apply design concepts and color theory to your business card based on its intended audience.

Instructions:1) Have another student take your picture.2) Save the digital photos to either a flash drive, an email account or a folder on the server. DO NOT save to the hard drive. OPTIONAL – You can digitally manipulate and or enhance your photo using a paint or photo editing software program.3) Create a personal logo using clip art from a simple word-processing program (or a more advanced desktop publishing software program, if you desire). 4) Select a favorite saying or motto to include on your business card. See the quote web sites below.

By completing this worksheet, you will begin to make important decisions about how you want your card to look. Think about who (the audience) you will be giving your business cards to and what colors/fonts/graphics would be appropriate for them.
6) Once you have your plan in place, create your business cards based on your design (above). You can use the business card template file below or set up your own file in your word processor or paint program.
Create one complete card that includes your name, contact information, photo, logo and quote. Be sure to proofread your card and then cut and paste it 10 times into the template. Your cards are now ready to print!
