The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens Training Program
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens Training Program
Congratulations! As a Business Ownership student and an outstanding employee, you have been tasked with helping to train other teens at your workplace. The following are the guidelines on what you will need to do to prepare to conduct a training program on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. You will work on a team and will present (with your team) one key concept from the chapters in the book.
Step 1: If at all possible, read the text, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, by Sean Covey. You are strongly encouraged to purchase this book, however, you can also borrow it from the local library, if you prefer. If you cannot obtain the text, some highlights will be provided, that will be needed to complete this activity.
Step 2: Form a group (size to be determined by the teacher) and get your assigned “habit”.
Step 3: With your partners, conduct preliminary research on your topic and decide the following:
- Key points you wish your audience to know about the “habit". Prepare an outline of what you plan to present (to be collected at the end.)
- One skit (or interactive activity) that represents your “habit”
- What type of creative evaluation can be conducted to assess the students’ understanding of the concepts (game, quiz, review questions, etc)
Step 4: Choose one team member to act as secretary and record all decisions made in Step 3. Include this data in your final packet to be turned into your teacher.
Step 5: As a group, create a poster to use as a visual aid in your training program. Be sure to include the "habit". Use examples that will help you explain how to implement the habit. Graphics are encouraged! Make your poster both creative and professional!
Step 6: Present your "habit" to the class. Your team will have 15 minutes to present all material, conduct an activity, and provide an assessment.
Step 7: Submit all written work to your teacher (outline/step 3 data, poster, etc.)
Bonus Activities:Play the 7 Habits Matching Game or the Word Search! You can also begin your personal mission statement by doing "The Great Discovery"
